Reuse of Acid Bioleachate in Bacterial Oxidation of a Refractory Gold Sulfide Concentrate

Bacterial pre-oxidation of refractory gold concentrates generates large volumes leachate and requires a significant supply nutrients to support bacterial growth. Therefore, bioleachate reuse reduces both water consumption the required for process. However, efficiency this method its benefit need be further explored. In present study, two tests on in new cycles oxidation were carried out evaluate reuse. Our results showed that bioleachates could reduce nitrogen phosphorus requirements by 40% 36%, respectively, after 14-day biooxidation stage stirred tank bioreactor. We also had positive effect recovery subsequent 48 h treatment cyanidation. The rate (initial concentration 44 mg/kg) remained unchanged at 90% recirculation loops. made it possible increase solubilization rates other metals from sulfide concentrate. Thus, yields copper 3587 zinc 27,315 increased, 14.8% 40.2% 37.5% 99.6%
